Abstract

Mental imaging plays a significant role in orienting the activities of individuals in the organization and has potential effects on the employees’ performance. The purpose of this study was to investigate mental imaging management behaviors based on situational and personal predictors. This applied study was conducted using descriptive-survey and cross-sectional approach. The statistical population of study included the education staff of Mazandaran province in 33 branches of this department in spring 2019 (39,220 persons factor analysis show that components of performance evaluation, job conditions and position, role ambiguity (job stressors), leader-member exchange, organizational culture, political skills, accountability hierarchy, situational explanators and components, self-control (self-appraisal), personal attraction, self-confidence, and need for power and conscience (conscientiousness) were the explainators of the personal conditions that affect the mental imaging management of the staff of the education department of Mazandaran Province. In explaining the relationships between research variables, the results indicate that situational and personal conditions have a significant and positive impact on the mental imaging management of staff.), among whom 380 were selected as the sample of study through the multistage cluster sampling method using Karajsi and Morgan. To collect data, two questionnaires of situation and personal predictors and Bolino and Thornley (1999) Mental Imaging Management Questionnaire were used.
